That’s insane! Imagine riding your mountain bike down 800 meters worth of stairs, bricks and terrain, and making it out in one piece! This is definitely a race you’ll want to wear a bike helmet for. You can get one at Performance Bike and find some deals here. They have other bicycle equipment and apparel as well, but a helmet is what you need to protect your noggen if you plan on doing something insanely stupid like ride down a bunch of stairs in a race, in a foreign country, with a helmet-cam!

What Bicycling Means to Me

I’ve read a lot of books about biking and I have to say, there are some good ones! The hardest part of course is taking the virtual instructions that you find in a book, and translating them to the physical act of getting off of the couch, turning off the TV and going for a ride. The easiest way to avoid these bad habits is to start young. There are plenty of children’s books about bicycles, so if you’re like me and have 1 or 2 kids of your own, consider a few of my favorite kids’ books about bicycles:
